A solvent-based, high-performance, single-component, thin-film, flexible product that creates a covalent bond with the substrate, making it an intrinsic part of the surface.

  • Specifically designed for Hypalon, PVC, and rubber inflatable tender protection material
  • An inert (benign) material when cured
  • Will not harm marine life or waterways
  • Extreme hydrophobic coating with super slick properties
  • Helps prevent the bonding of marine organisms, dirt, grime, slime, water, ice, and staining
  • Greatly reduces drag in the water, allowing for higher speed and performance and less drag equates to less fuel consumption significantly reduces potential UV damage
  • Available in gloss, matte, non-slip matte, and textured non-slip finishes
  • For extreme non-slip, consider TLC with wet grip and clear texture additives
  • For hard Gelcoat “Zodiac” bottoms, use HULL SHIELD 32
  • Approximate coverage:  4,000 sq. ft. per gallon or 500 sq. ft. per pint (16oz)

Application Sheet

NAS-3245 Tender Loving Care (TLC)
Nano-Ceramic Clear Coat
(Ideal for Hypalon® and similar flexible surfaces)
[See general notes- below – for more Non-Slip Top-Side coatings]

TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) is a clean nano-ceramic that offers a micro-thin super-slick Hydrophobic surface that helps prevent the bonding of marine organisms, dirt, grime, slime, water, ice, etc.
TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) greatly reduces drag against the water, allowing for higher speed and performance and less drag equates to less fuel consumption
TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) significantly reduces potential UV damage

A super-slick coating for all flexible surfaces, increases control and performance
Note- (TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) can also be applied to out-boards, drives and props to improve performance)

⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) nano-ceramic coating material is best when applied to a surface that is clean, dry, free from oils, dirt and any other contaminants, that may be present on the surface.
⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) is typically applied directly on Hypalon® type surfaces to produce a smooth, Non-Slip Ceramic finish to enhance the crafts handling, speed and overall performance.
Apply TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) with a dampened “Mohair roller*” or lint free cloth squeegee, in somewhat linear motions, slightly overlapping the previously coated wet area at a thin 3-5 micron dry film thickness (thicker is not better)

* (“Mohair” roller – often the roller is locked to prevent it from turning, allowing it to be lightly slid across the surface
leaving a thin 3-5 micron finish behind).

⦁ Note! It is strongly suggested: try a small test area to be sure the application technique is understood before starting on a large surfaces
⦁ Application should be started at a corner or edge, until there is complete coverage
⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) will be dry to the touch, or dust and moisture free in approximately 25-30 minutes in ambient temperature
⦁ Ambient cured properties are obtained in approximately 12-24 hours after application at 28°C/79°F; warmer temperatures cure the coating faster although typically it will take at least 5 days to become totally crosslinked at ambient temperatures.
⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (TLC) should be fully cured (5 days at ambient) before being submerged in water.

General Note: For a hydrophobic, non-slip top-side coating, consider:
⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (WG) Clear Nano-Ceramic with “Wet-Grip” for a smooth, non-slip top-side
⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (Text) Clear Nano-Ceramic with “Clear Texture” for increased non-slip top-side
⦁ TENDER LOVING CARE (WG/Text) Clear Nano-Ceramic with “Wet-Grip & Clear Texture” for extreme non-slip
• For hard “Zodiac® bottoms,” consider using HULL SHIELD Higher Solids Clear Nano-Ceramic Coating
